About

Hi! My name is Andrea Casper, allow me to introduce myself.

Who am I? I am a wife, mother, former teacher, reader, writer, doer, and thinker who looks for the silver linings and lessons to be had in life. I believe life experiences, whether those experiences are mine, another person’s, or a character’s from a book, are meant to teach us some practical or wonderful thing about ourselves, human nature, or life in general.

So why did I start a blog? I love to write! It is how I process my thoughts. Sometimes I write on paper, sometimes I write on a laptop, and sometimes I write in my head. Unless my brain is occupied by a task that requires my complete and undivided attention, I am creating narratives and reflecting on something I read, heard, or experienced. That is how Consider It came into existence. This blog is my workspace, my head space, and now your space.

I actually began Consider It in June of 2018. At that time, I was newly retired from teaching English language arts (ELA) for over twenty years and looking for my next thing. I was bored with myself! Our daughters Grace and Claire were in college, our daughter Sarah was in high school, and our son, Stephen, was in third grade. I jumped into blogging not knowing what I was doing. My first three posts came quickly, then school started, and I began a job writing ELA curriculum units, and my blogging fell off. I kept putting off starting again, thinking I need to learn more about blogging before I jump back in. Fast forward to today. The girls are full-fledged adults with great careers, Stephen is heading into his Sophomore year in high school, and I have a great gig as a contract Standards and Alignments Specialist with a flexible schedule, so I am back at it.

Thanks for stopping by!
